Number Included

Jan/30/2015

The LOOP study has now reached 25% of the 6,000 patients that are to be included and 412 patients have received a chip, placed under the skin on the front of the chest. The chip detects the patient’s heart rhythm and sends this information to a small box, which stands on the nightstand of the 412 patients. This box transmits the signals to the hospital. Thus, every night Rigshospitalet, Bisbebjerg, Odense and Roskilde receives reports from the 412 patients from which they can keep an eye on the patient and make sure that the patient is contacted if atrial fibrillation is detected during the 3 years that the patient is included in the study.

The LOOP study is still including patients. If you are interested in participating more information can be found on this website under “Contact us”.
